Since 2000, Dr. Granstaff has served as Vice President
of Career Strategies with Dynamics Unlimited. In this
position he has formulated career search campaigns,
prepared clients for interviews and salary negotiations,
and written/edited first-rate credentials for a wide
variety of clients—from senior executives to mid-level
managers to graduating college students. In 2002, Dr.
Granstaff served as Director of Career Planning at Oklahoma
City University.
Prior to his work with Dynamics, Dr.
Granstaff earned his Ph.D. in Political Science at the
University of Oklahoma. He spent 1994 as an American
Political Science Congressional Fellow working as a
Legislative Assistant for Congressman Eric Fingerhut
(D-OH) in Washington, D.C. As the congressman’s
liaison with the Committees on Foreign Affairs and Armed
Services, Dr. Granstaff became intimately familiar with
the federal legislative process. He observed what he
considered to be a fundamental flaw in the federal legislative
process. Losing Our Democratic Spirit: Congressional
Deliberation and the Dictatorship of Propaganda (1999)
was the result.
During his stint in Washington, D.C.,
Dr. Granstaff also published an article on the First
Amendment’s religion clauses entitle “The
Box the Heart Came In: ‘Religion’ and the
First Amendment” (1995).
On a wholly different note, during
his early music career, Dr. Granstaff worked with the
Beach Boys and recorded a number of songs. Later, after
establishing himself in the San Francisco Bay Area music
scene, he gained a reputation as a skillful arranger
and producer, where he worked primarily with Camouflage
Studios in San Jose, CA, turning out many different
styles of music.
