Bill Schachter has over 30 years of diverse corporate
management experience, including managing domestic and
international business development for marketing and
financial services companies, such as Active International.
Mr. Schachter received
his degree in Business Administration from the University
of Rhode Island and, after graduating ROTC, was commissioned
a Second Lieutenant in the US Army. Mr Schachter successfully
completed the Army's Airborne, Ranger and Special Warfare
Training, and was promoted to Captain, commanding a
Specila Forces "A" Team in Vietnam.
After release from the Army, Schachter
worked for the Roerig Division of Pfizer and then joined
Crain Communication selling advertising space for Promotion
Magazine. He left Crain Communications to join East
West Network, the leading in-flight publisher. During
5 years with East West, Mr. Schachter rose from sales
to the manager of the Los Angeles office and then was
transferred to New York to run it's New York office.
Bill was then recruited by the publishing division of
OAG (at that time a division of Dun & Bradstreet)
to start Frequent Flyer Magazine. The magazine became
profitable 18 months after it launched.
Mr. Schachter was the asked to join
CSI International, a startup corporate barter company.
As Sr. VP of Sales, he led the company through a strong
growth period and was promoted from Sr. VP to President.
In 1993, he bought the company and sold it 5 years latter
to Active International, the largest corporate barter
company worldwide. Mr Schachter's initial duties at
Active were Sr. VP International Sales, supervising
sales in 15 offices outside the US. After 2 years, Schachter
was transferred to London to become President of Active
Holdings Europe, with offices in London, Paris, Dusseldorf
and Madrid. Under Mr. Schachter’s leadership,
these combined offices went from a negative $2.3million
EBITIDA to a positive EBITIDA exceeding $4million.
Since 2000, Bill has been a key player
in two successful internet start-up companies. One company
markets a desktop broadcasting system over a virtual
private network, and the other produces a platform-independent
operating system that delivers rich web applications
transparently on laptops, tablet PC’s, pocket
computers, and mobile phones.
Mr. Schachter is married with two daughters
and 8 grandchildren, and currently resides in Ft Lauderdale,
Florida and New York City.
